"Among you is a girl who has become a witch." On the morning she was supposed to start her first year of high school, Emma woke up to find herself in a dimly lit cage. She had no idea how she got there, and was locked up in a prison on a remote island. Emma was confused, along with other girls who had been captured in the same way.
Then an owl appeared and announced:
"You are all harmful to this world"
"The factor that will turn you into a [witch] has been detected."
"You will live here as prisoners."
The everyday life I had taken for granted has fallen apart. During her time in prison, Emma befriends other girls who are also candidates to become witches, but then a murder occurs. The owl gathers the prisoner girls and declares: "The witch trial is now in session." It was the start of a cruel game in which the "witch", the one to be executed, would be chosen from among the girls.
